What We Know & What We Want to Know?

What I know...
I know that many people have a problem and or don't like the way gas prices change so often. Gas prices also affect society, in many ways. Most people that are either adults or teenagers that can drive, often notice the gas prices and how quickly they change or how they differ so much from one another. From teenagers with jobs or to well-off adults, paying high prices for gas does not make sense or make people happy. THey always rise when people are traveling, but even when there not they always seem to change. I also know that over the years they have risen and are continuing to. One reason gas prices are so high is the war in Iraq, since we get most of our oil from the Middle East. Another reason is the competition between all the different companies, especially when they are all so close another.

What I want to know?
I would like to know what other causes of the changing prices are.

Why is that you see one price, and can go around the corner to see it 20 cents more a gallon?
What can be done to either cope with the problem of rising gas prices, or fix the problem?
Are there other sources of oil and would that help prices?
Will the hybrid cars become popular?
What are otheraffect of gas prices on society?
